Something we’ve noticed over the years as apprentice recruiters is that candidates are all too ready to allow the academic calendar to dictate when they should apply for the apprenticeship roles they desire. There are two main drawbacks to this strategy.
Firstly, many employers will recruit all year round for apprentices so it makes sense to keep a track of those you want to work for as you never know when the ideal role for you will become available. If you’re not on the ball, you’ll miss the golden opportunity.
The second reason is if you leave applying until school or college finishes in June, you’re applying for roles at the height of the market when competition is that much more fierce.
